I Want to Remember This Forever

One thing I love about my children (and a lot of children in general) that I always want to remember is that they are not greedy (most of the time) and are naive about a lot of things. They don't know that things from the store that are fun and exciting can actually be bought and brought home with us. They don't know that birthdays and Christmas generally bring gifts from a lot of people. And they get so excited about things that I know they will roll their eyes at as they get older. If only we could keep this forever.

One of the girls' highlights of Christmas was getting new clothes. I love these pictures because they captured such a funny moment.

Here, Taryn has already put on the brown pants and is now putting the jeans OVER them (and backwards too). Keara is lying on the pants she got, giving them a hug.

Here's her hug...
As soon as Taryn opened the shirt, off went her pajama top... ...she finished pulling on the jeans...
...and got her shirt on. Yes, she wore that ensemble most of the day.

I agree with that innocence

***WAIT!!! THIS CRAZY ASIAN-SOUNDING Ca-Ca-Ca came on just now...WHAT IN THE WORLD IS THIS!!!!***

which is what prompted me to call Toys-R-Us the toys museum. The other day, Carter was recalling the experience, but couldn't remember the name of the store, so he described it, "that store that had all those cool things that we couldn't take home."

And with that, even their complete amazement that there might be more presents for them, or that a sticker sheet is the sweetest bday present ever. My kids favorite presents: Balloons that we blew up from the closet.
