Another Frosting Recipe

So the other day Braden was making...wait, I made for Braden...a cake for a coworker. We made a marble cake and were going to drizzle it with chocolate frosting. After the cake didn't come out of the pan, we made another and decided to frost the whole thing. But I didn't have a chocolate frosting recipe. So I pulled out some ingredients and some ideas in my mind and whipped together a frosting.

Apparently, everyone was RAVING about it at his work and even eating it straight from the tupperware he brought it in before they even ate the cake. Wow. Didn't expect that! Unfortunately, I don't have a recipe. I'm going to try to duplicate it and write down measurements, but until then, here's what I did:

1/3 cup butter, softened
Powdered Sugar
1 Tbs whipping cream (only if it gets too stiff)
2-3 Tbs cocoa
2-4 Tbs sour cream
1 tsp vanilla

I whipped the butter and added some powdered sugar. Then I added the cocoa and vanilla and a Tbs or two of sour cream. But it was too stiff so I added a little cream and then more powdered sugar and sour cream. But then it tasted too much like sour cream, so I added more powdered sugar until it was the right consistency. Perfect.

It probably wouldn't be great as a piping frosting, but a great spreading frosting. For those of us to hate frosting, it was really delicious! I hope someone else can enjoy it!

yum! I'm frosting Chris' birthday cake tomorrow. Too bad I can't have chocolate or I might do this one. I'll save it for Claire's birthday. Bring on the chocolate!
