Going Private

Well, I've finally decided to go private with my blog. I have avoided going private for a long time because I really hate it when other people's blogs are private. I love finding out that people I never knew were reading my blog are totally caught up with our lives. I love doing the same for other people I've lost touch with. But, I really do not like the people who I do not know, who have absolutely no connection to me, looking at my blog. So I've decided to go private.

I wish blogger.com had a way for people who aren't invited to somehow contact the author of the blog to ask to be invited. I love that people I know can find my blog, but what good is that if they can never contact me to be invited just because they don't have my email? Anyway, for the safety of my family and the freedom to write what I want, I guess we'll be one of "those" blogs.

What going private means is that I will enter your email address as a person invited to read my blog. Then you will get an email with a link in it that will send you to a page that will allow you to enter your email address and a password and then you will be allowed to view my blog. That invitation will be valid as long as you view my blog as least once in a 6 month period. If you don't, the invitation will expire and I'll need to send you a new invite. The other thing about it is that every time you view my blog, you'll have to be signed in. So if you go to my blog and an error message comes up saying you haven't been invited, sign in using your email and it should pull right up. Please let me know if you have problems.

So, if you want to continue reading my blog, email me or comment on my blog with your preferred email address. I will not go private for a few weeks, to allow everyone who wants to keep reading my blog adequate time to let me know.
