I've been thinking lately about health and nutrition. See, I'm getting older. Sure, I'm not 30 yet. But I want to be HEALTHY til the day I die. Since I strongly believe that a lot of our ailments, sicknesses, diseases, cancers, etc. are a result of our highly processed, chemical, fatty diets. And I don't like it. Plus, I want to have ENERGY. And I'd like to not hate what I see when I look in the mirror, knowing I could do something about it.
My dear friend Jill inspired me when she went off refined sugars and white flour. I was very impressed and thought, I could never do that. I'm still not sure about the flour part, but I've been feeling that sugar is really a drain on my body right now. I've had a sweet tooth since getting pregnant with Keara and it hasn't left. I've caved in to it way too many times...like a few times daily. I just love cookies, chocolate, brownies, quick breads, etc. Love.
So I know I need to stop. I've decided to try going off added sugars for one week, just to see how it goes. I know I'll go thru serious withdrawal. But I'm going to try. Here's my plan:
1. No added sugars for one week (natrually occuring sugars are fine...like fruits, etc.)
2. Increase water consumption to 10 8-oz. glasses of water per day
3. Structured exercise for 45 minutes 3 days in a week
Do you want to try with me? I know I never really stick to anything without someone doing it with me and since I don't have a Jill or Krista out here, I need someone else to be accountable with. I'm trying to recruit Braden but its not the same.

I just started the no sugar thing again yesterday! You can do it, I'll do it with you....from like 1 gazillion miles away. Just move here.
Great idea! You can totally do it! My kids and I did it for a month just to experiment. Now we're twice a week. I tried sweets once a week, but with Sunday's and date night it just didn't seem to work. I love the water idea too. My hang up is the exercise I still haven't been able to fix my foot and it drives me crazy! You will definitely feel better doing all of those things! Good luck!
As I've contemplated this in the last 24 hours, I've had 3 cookies from an Eagle Project, and a lot of oreos while working on my FHE kit, and today I made Monkey Bread, so...having a hard time committing.

...and I signed my name like this was an email because???
Cheri,
George is crying so I'll make this quick, I am doing this for me more than you, in commenting. :) I found this blog called Simple. Healthy. Tasty.(blogspot.com) I think. And its inspired me so much. She attests to natural sugars like Sucanat and Honey because they still have things good for you so when she got cravings she made those treats from those good ingredients and the more she used healthy treats the less she needed. I'd love to do this w/ you because basically I am really trying to feel and be healthy, (come read Like a Lady's on my blog) I am starting Simple.H.T's 8 step challenge w/ enough water first, and I am ganna do it three weeks to make it a habit then do her next step. BTW love your fun work songs, this morning I tried work songs w/ the kids and got so frustrated bcause Milly insisted on pushing pause cause she wanted to dance. UG! :) Poor George, better go. ~Emily
