So, after making those farm animals for Keara, I decided to make a doll house out of cardboard and paper mache. After all, what good are animals if they have nowhere to live? I had a lot of fun doing it and figuring out how to make stairs, 3 levels, etc. but it is a rough draft. I would like to try again and actually decorate it and make it fun for her. I know, I could just go buy a doll house that would actually last a year, but this is more fun for me. And I think it teaches her creativity and resourcefulness. Or maybe I'll just have to remind her about it for the rest of her life as a "teaching moment" so she will learn creativity and resourcefulness!
I have since painted the house white to cover up all the newspaper, though I've realized, though my daughters' rooms are cute, I hate painting. I love having painting done, but I hate the detail work of painting. If I get to use a roller on the wall and go

to town, great. But corners, edges, and details? Forget it. I'm too impatient. So, needless to say, the house looks a bit ridiculous, but it works.
This is one of the few toys Keara has that has entertained her most of the day. While she'll come and go from it all day, she usually spends a lot of her day with it. Her animals have survived (with the help of the glue gun) and she loves helping them climb the stairs, look out the windows, and go out the door. I'm so glad she loves it!

Cool dollhouse. What a lot of work. I gave up on paper mache after the last pinata!
