Why I Love Arizona

What a title! Is there really a reason?! Do I really love Arizona!? No, not really. But, since we're here, I have found 3 things that I really do love and will miss when we do eventually leave.

1. Last night's thunderstorm. It came so quickly and lasted a couple hours. The lightning was from east to west, north to south, coming from every direction and flashing every second. The thunder made the house shake and it made me think of the nights my dad would come have me stand outside with him to watch the storm. I wished Keara was awake to do the same.

2. Cold Showers. It is so bloomin' hot here that I LOVE cold showers! That is, when we can get cold water. But we sure save on our gas bill because we never need hot water from May to September. This last week, as its gotten slightly cooler (low 100s), I've thoroughly been enjoying cold showers.

3. Making bread. Huh? Can't I do that anywhere? Yes, but where else can I make bread in about an hour, including rise times? In the summer, I can make the dough, cover it, and place it on our patio. About 20 minutes later, it's risen until double. Leave it there for an hour and its almost overflowing. Then shape it how you want, plop it back on the patio and another 20 minutes, it's ready for the oven. Amazing! I will truly miss that, especially with how much bread I'm making.
